Bus Filled With Football Fans Catches Fire in Ohio

A bus caught fire and burned in Portage County as it was traveling to a high school football game. None of the occupants were hurt, but the bus is totaled.

Oct. 12--A bus carrying die-hard Massillon football fans caught fire Friday night in Portage County.

The high school's student cheer group "The Village Idiots" was on the bus when it caught fire on Interstate 76 near Rootstown.

Authorities said no one was hurt, but the bus is a total loss. A cause of the fire is being investigated.

The students were traveling to cheer on the Massillon Tigers against Austintown Fitch.

School officials posted on the Village Idiots' Facebook page that "Luckily, all the boys are safe and have hitched a ride with the cheerleading squad."
