Trooper: S.C. Fire Tanker Driver Swerved to Avoid Deer

Nov. 11, 2013
One firefighter was trapped while the others managed to get out of the wreckage on their own.

Three S.C. firefighters were injured early Monday when their tanker overturned.

Two Pumpkintown firefighters managed to get out on their own. However, another had to be extricated from the overturned wreckage, according to WYFF4.com.

All were conscious and alert, officials told reporters.

Preliminary reports indicate the driver lost control of the tanker after swerving to avoid a deer. The vehicle veered off the road and overturned.
