A Michigan firefighter will remain in the hospital for a few days after he was hurt by a falling tree.
Armada Township Firefighter/Medic Andy Pfeifle was struck in the back of the head, according to The Voice.
“I’m talking 14 inches in diameter, 20-foot tall. It came down on him and put him in the ground like a tent stake," firefighter Ryan Antos told reporters.
Township Supervisor John Paterek told reporters it was a really close call. “He has some, all mendable, but very uncomfortable, injuries. It was probably four inches away from losing a man here and having a funeral. It was that close. He’s in good spirits; he’s in good hands.."
The incident occurred as firefighters were fighting a house fire early Wednesday.
