Three people were killed, and six were wounded in the Nov.6 incident.

Dec. 17--A suspicious fire broke out at Al's barbershop, the scene of a violent November shooting that left three people dead and six injured.

Detroit Fire Department Acting Chief 8 Anthony Braceful today said smoke was billowing from the shop in the 5200 block of 7 Mile when Engine 56 arrived just before 9 p.m. Monday. Firefighters at the scene called the blaze suspicious. The department's arson unit plans to investigate today.

Braceful said the blaze was burning in the middle of the shop, causing smoke and fire damage to the interior. He said the structure is repairable.

The Nov. 6 shooting took place when the barbershop was filled with people. Police say two cars pulled up in an alley behind the shop, and a shoot-out spilled over inside.

Investigators said the shop is known for gambling activity, but a motive for the shooting has not been determined. Investigators arrested one man on unrelated federal charges, calling him a person of interest after he tried to ram the car of an investigator doing surveillance in connection with the shooting. The case remains under investigation.
