A dramatic scene unfolded in Kingston, Ontario, Tuesday afternoon when a crane operator was trapped above a massive blaze.

The fire was reported around 2 p.m. in downtown Kingston, CTV Ottawa reported.

The flames that consumed the apartment building under construction trapped the worker.

Around 3 p.m., the helicopter hovered over the scene and the man was rescued.
