Dec. 31--A man was recovering in the hospital late Monday after one of his arms became trapped in a packing machine in West Boca Raton, according to Palm Beach County Fire Rescue.
It happened around 8 p.m. at the Thomas Produce Co. plant at 9905 Clint Moore Road, Capt. Albert Borroto said in an email.
Firefighters found the injured man attached to the machine. He was quickly removed with help from plant personnel, Borroto said. Paramedics evaluated the man's injuries and took him to the trauma center at Delray Medical Center, Borroto said.
Thomas Produce is among the largest vegetable-growing operations in Florida, with 13,000 acres in Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie and Hendry counties, according to the company's website.
