Wife, Others Charged with Killing S.C. Fire Chief

Branchville Fire Chief Alan Oakley was stabbed to death.

Dec. 31--ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. -- Three women, including the victim's wife, have been arrested and charged in connection with the stabbing death of Branchville Fire Chief Alan Oakley.

Melody Turner Oakley, 40, Ann M. Anderson, 47, and Carrie Ashley Brown, 25 have been charged with murder and conspiracy.

SLED Spokesman Thom Berry said Melody Oakley was Alan Oakley's wife.

Oakley was stabbed to death on Saturday.

Arrest warrants say the three women "planned and carried out the murder of Alan Oakley by stabbing him in the neck resulting in his death."

The three women are being held at the Orangeburg-Calhoun Regional Detention Center.

SLED and the Branchville Police Department investigated the case.
