The fire was in the same classroom as before.

Jan. 27--Arson is suspected for a second time at a Jacksonville church that was damaged by flames in September.

Shortly after 7 a.m. Monday, firefighters responded to the vacant Church of the Epiphany at 5142 Harlow Blvd. to a fire in the same classroom building that burned Sept. 20, said spokesman Tom Francis of Jacksonville Fire and Rescue.

The September fire in the ceiling broke through the roof and burned about halfway along the attic.

Monday's fire was in the same elongated building. A second, smaller fire was also discovered Monday at the base of a door at a separate building. It was not caused by the other fire, Francis said.

Both were extinguished quickly Monday and no one was injured.

Evidence at the scene raised suspicions of arson, Francis said. He said the state Fire Marshal's Office and Jacksonville Sheriff's Office are investigating.

The church is closed. When fire broke out in September there was a for-sale sign in the yard.
