A semi was found burning in the large facility

Jan. 30--The Fort Wayne Fire Department spent an hour Thursday morning dealing with a bit of an unusual event: While investigating water flowing from a pipe, a fire in a semitrailer was discovered in a large repair facility

The incident started around 12:51 a.m., when firefighters were dispatched to 8222 Bluffton Road to investigate an active water flow from a pipe, according to a news release.

Upon arrival, however, investigators discovered smoke coming from the 80,000 square foot facility. After gaining entry, firefighters encountered heavy smoke in the large building that contained multiple semitrailers.

One of the vehicles was found to be burning, deep inside the structure, according to the news release. The fire was extinguished, but clearing smoke from the large structure took an extended period of time, which caused the fire to be deemed under control at 1:51 a.m.

The incident resulted in minor fire and water damage and moderate smoke damage, but no injuries.
