Four N.C. Firefighters Hurt in Roof Collapse

They were inside when the roof collapsed.

Four Greensboro firefighters were injured Thursday afternoon after the roof of a body repair shop collapsed.

They were taken to Moses Cone Hospital for treatment of unknown injuries, Chief Clarence Hunter told WXII reporters.

One of the injured firefighters was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center for treatment. 

The firefighters were inside the structure when the roof collapsed during the early part of the fire, Hunter said.

As of 2 p.m., the fire was contained but not completely extinguished.The fire was reported around 12:45 p.m. at Import Knights Body Repair at 811 S. Elm St. 

Initial reports indicated the fire was between two and four alarms.
