Prince George's County technical rescue teams put their skills to the test during the snow Thursday to help a horse.
Crews from the St. Joes Tech Rescue Station is less than a half mile from the barn in Springdale.
They set up a rigging system to pull the horse to a standing position, firefighters said.
The horse had become so exhausted from trying to free itself from the deep snow it collapsed. There is a vet on the scene.
