Feb. 17--Three Memphis firefighters were treated for smoke inhalation at a hospital after battling a blaze late Saturday night.
The firemen, whose injuries were noncritical, were among 78 emergency responders who fought the commercial structure blaze of Canadian paper maker Kruger Products at 400 Mahannah Ave. about 11:30 p.m. Saturday.
The company, which is planning a $316 million expansion of its plant north of Downtown, makes White Cloud bathroom and facial tissue.
The fire at the one-story building was under control within about two hours.
Memphis Fire Lt. Wayne A. Cooke said the building has a sprinkler system. The structure sustained smoke, fire and water damage.
Damage estimates were undetermined. The cause and origin of the blaze were under investigation.
