Ark. Chief Dies of Injuries Suffered in Crash

Oak Grove Chief Randy Pogue was hurt on Feb.2 while responding.

An Arkansas fire chief injured in a crash on an icy road while responding to a call earlier this month has died.

Oak Grove Fire Chief Randy Pogue, 49, was headed to a wreck on Feb. 2 when his pickup truck hit a patch of ice.

Pogue was conscious, however, he went into Adult Respiratory Distress Syndrome once at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock.

He was in a medically induced coma since the wreck. He died Tuesday evening. 

Pogue had 32 years in the fire service.

His death brings to 17 the number of firefighters who died on duty so far this year.

Funeral arrangements will be posted when they become available.
