Judge Denies IAFF Motion to Block Brownouts in Houston

The IAFF is worried about safety of firefighters and the public.

A judge has denied a Houston IAFF motion to prevent rolling brownouts throughout the city.

They wanted to block the measure of removing staff, engines and ambulances, according to The Houston Chronicle.

The city is proposing the brownouts to balance the fire department's budget. Another hearing is set for March 7.

Fire union president Brian Sky-Eagle told reporters  said he was disappointed.He also told the reporters he filed the order "as a preemptive strike" to protect people and firefighters..."
