Florida Firefighter Dies After Duty Shift

Kennedy Space Flight Center Asst. Chief Roger Tome died Feb. 10.

The assistant chief of the Kennedy Space Flight Center Fire Department died earlier this month after his shift.

Roger Dale Tome, 71, died of an apparent heart attack several hours after his shift ended, according to the USFA.

During that shift on Feb 10, he completed mandated physical training. 

Tome had 51 years in the fire service.

The USFA received word of his death Friday.
