The trolley service was halted after the fire damaged the trolley wires.

March 02--The Memphis Area Transit Authority suspended all trolley services for the remainder of this weekend, and possibly longer, after a fire involving an 18-wheeler Saturday night possibly damaged trolley wires, officials said.

Memphis firefighters responded to a fire call at Main and Winchester, in the Downtown area, at 7: 48 p.m. and found the truck on fire and leaking diesel fuel.

MATA spokeswoman Alison Burton said the incident prompted the transit agency to close all trolley lines.

Memphis Fire Department officials said no cause of fire has been determined as they continue to investigate.

No injuries were reported.
