HOLLYWOOD, Md. (WUSA9) -- A D.C. firefighter was arrested by the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office on prescription drug charges, according to police.

Henry Claggett Dent, 35, was arrested after police say he used counterfeit prescriptions at multiple pharmacies in Maryland.

On Tuesday, March 4, St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office detectives received a tip about a possible fraudulent prescription used at a pharmacy in Hollywood. Police say they notified local pharmacies and provided a suspect description.

Two days later, police say a suspect matching the description used another fraudulent prescription at a pharmacy in Charlotte Hall. Police responded to the store and arrested Dent without incident.

Witnesses described the suspect as a "white male wearing a fire uniform".

Police say they recovered 47 "Oxycodone" pills, 18 additional fraudulent prescriptions in various stages of completion, and six empty prescription bottles obtained from other pharmacies in Calvert County, Prince George's County and D.C. from the suspect and his vehicle. Police also recovered electronic evidence including a laptop, thumb drive and a tablet, officials said.

The investigation is ongoing and now includes officers from the Office of Internal Affairs for Washington D.C. Fire and EMS. Numerous additional charges are pending a review with State's Attorney Richard D. Fritz.
