March 12--MANATEE -- An industrial accident pinned a female victim under a 2,000-pound piece of machinery around 6:07 p.m. Tuesday at Eaton Corp., 2250 Whitfield Ave. E, according to a report by the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
Eaton Corp. employees were reportedly moving the massive machine when the 63-year-old victim got in between the machine and a desk table. One of four jacks gave way, causing another to collapse as well.
The machine reportedly fell over onto the victim pinning her. The Bradenton Fire Department and Manatee County Sheriff's Office were called to assist.
The victim was extricated and brought to Blake Medical Center, where she is listed in critical condition.
