Man Injured in Tennessee House Fire

Knoxville firefighters found the man outside of his burning home when they arrived.

April 23--KNOXVILLE -- One person was sent to the hospital for injuries sustained in a house fire in North Knoxville on Tuesday night, according to the Knoxville Fire Department.

KFD units were dispatched to the house in the 4100 block of Wake Robin Drive, off Glasgow Road, for a report of a fire shortly after 9 p.m., KFD spokesman Capt. D.J. Corcoran said in a news release.

When firefighters arrived, they found the resident of the home in the front yard, the release states.

He was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for smoke inhalation and burns to his hands.

The fire was mostly contained to a bedroom, according to the release. No other injures were reported.

The resident said he will be seeking shelter with friends and family, the release states.
