Ky. Firefighter Dies Hours After Extrication Operation

McQuady Firefighter Charlie Goff, 53, was stricken after returning home.

A Kentucky firefighter suffered a fatal heart attack Sunday after assisting at an incident.

McQuady Firefighter Charlie Goff, 53, helped extricate several people following a crash that involved a number of vehicles.

After returning home, the 30 year fire service veteran had a heart attack, the USFA reported.

Among those he helped at his last call were a fellow firefighter and his wife.

This death brings to 36 the number of firefighters killed on duty this year.
