Four firefighters were inside the Kimberly fire station Monday night when the tornado hit. However, they were not injured.

"The fire station is destroyed," Chief Ray Horn of Warrior Fire Company, whose department handled calls when the tornado hit just after 10 p.m.

The chief also told NBC11 reporters "The Church of God was destroyed, too."

Kimberly is north of Birmingham.

On Sunday, the fire station in Quapaw, Okla. was destroyed after it took a direct hit.

Despite their losses, firefighters in both areas are continuing their work looking for victims who may be injured or trapped in the debris.
