May 09--Firefighters rescued a man stuck in a hot cement tanker on Friday at Campbell Industrial Park.

The man was working inside the tanker at a business at 91-245 Oihana St. when he alerted coworkers that he couldn't climb the ladder to exit the tanker, said Honolulu Fire Department inspector David Jenkins.

Firefighters arrived about 11:40 a.m. and found the man barely conscious as temperatures surpassed 100 degrees inside the tanker, Jenkins said.

Firefighters lowered an oxygen mask to the man, and two firefighters entered the tanker and strapped the man into a harness. Firefighters pulled the man out by 12:17 p.m. He didn't have any injuries, but was transferred to paramedics and taken to the hospital, Jenkins said.
