Fla. Firefighter Injured Fighting Abandoned House Fire

A Jacksonville firefighter lost his glove and burned his hand while fighting a house fire.

June 16--A Jacksonville firefighter battling an overnight blaze in an abandoned home suffered minor injuries when burned on his hand after losing a glove.

The blaze in the two-story home at Parental Home and Hogan roads in San Souci was reported by a passerby shortly after midnight. It took about 20 minutes to control, said fire department spokesman Mike Peery.

The unidentified firefighter was taken to a hospital, where he was treated and released.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
