Commercial Trucks, Cars Destroyed by Arson in Oregon

Firefighters in the Clackamas area had to deal with multiple fires in a parking lot that ultimately claimed three commercial trucks and three cars.

June 18--Arson investigators have been called in to probe a fire that destroyed three commercial trucks and three cars in the Clackamas area early Wednesday.

No one was hurt in the blaze, which was reported at 2:45 a.m.

Brandon Paxton, Clackamas Fire District 1 spokesman, said a passerby spotted flames in a parking lot at 11744 S.E. Jennifer St., in the industrial corridor south of Oregon 212/224. Arriving firefighters found three passenger vehicles and three tractors for semi rigs on fire adjacent to a commercial building.

Paxton said firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, preventing the fire from spreading to the building or other vehicles.

"But we're calling the cause suspicious," Paxton said, noting no logical ignition sources were obvious to firefighters on the scene. "When we got there, we had multiple fires to deal with."

Four fire engines and two trucks battled the blaze.
