Two Louisville EMS paramedics were injured in a crash that left a civilian Monday night.
The ambulance was responding to a medical call with lights and sirens activated when it struck a blue Geo Metro that was turning right, according to WAVE3-TV.
The ambulance then lost control and slammed into a construction crane near the scene, pinning the crew in the cab. Firefighters had to use a piece of construction equipment to extricate the EMS workers from the ambulance, a process that took over 30 minutes, the station reported.
The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.
