Miami-Dade also made a donation to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.

July 08--SAN ANTONIO -- Members of Miami Dade Fire Rescue showed their fondness for the Alamo City Monday -- albeit not entirely of their own free will -- by wearing San Antonio Fire Department T-shirts and hanging a Spurs flag outside their headquarters building.

As part of a losing bet with their San Antonio counterparts, the South Florida fire department also donated $500 to the National Fallen Firefighter Foundation.

When the Heat played the Spurs in the 2013 NBA Finals, the departments had a similar bet in which SAFD lost. They worked out another friendly wager this year, as the two teams met again at the NBA Finals.

Miami Fire Chief Dave Downey and SAFD Chief Charles Hood have a longstanding working relationship that led to the 2013 bet and the 2014 rematch, an SAFD spokesman said.
