A Montana firefighter died recently after training with his department.
Douglas James Casson, 46, died on Aug. 6 after he participated the Vaughn Fire Dept.the evening prior, the USFA reported.
The 20-year fire service veteran was the company’s safety officer.
This brings to 56 the number firefighters who died on duty so far this year.
