A Montana fire chief seriously injured last month in crash involving two fire apparatus has died.

Fort Shaw Chief Dave Anderson died Monday morning at Peace Hospice in Great Falls.

A memorial service is being planned for Sept. 6 at the Family Living Center at the Montana ExpoPark.

On July 22, he was driving a tender that collided with a brush truck while the two were responding to a grass fire, KRTV reported.

Anderson, who suffered a brain and other injuries,  had to be extricated from the tender that flipped onto its side.

He has been hospitalized since the collision. The other driver wasn't hurt.
