Ohio Firefighter Injured Fighting House Fire

A Toledo firefighter was taken to the hospital for treatment of dehydration he suffered while battling a fire at a vacant residence.

Aug. 28--Toledo firefighters fought a fire today in a vacant residence at 857 Tecumseh St., near Ewing Street in central Toledo.

Crews responded to the call just before 9 a.m.

There were no injuries reported, according to fire officials at the scene. One firefighter was transported to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center to be treated for dehydration, and then released, said Toledo Fire Lt. Matthew Hertzfeld.

The preliminary cause of the fire is considered to be suspicious.
