Crash at St. Louis Gas Station Causes Fire, Injuries

Several people were sent to the hospital after a driver lost control of a vehicle and slammed into a gas pump and a van sparking a small fire.

Aug. 31--A crash Sunday afternoon at a Phillips 66 gas station at 3700 Union Boulevard in St. Louis sparked a small fire and sent several people to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

St. Louis Fire Department spokesman Garon Mosby said a man lost control of his vehicle and struck a gas pump and a passenger van at the station at about 1:26 p.m.

The fire was extinguished quickly. Four occupants inside the van refused medical services, but the driver and two passengers in the other vehicle were taken to a hospital.
