A nine-alarm fire was raging in a large apartment building in Boston Wednesday evening.
Heavy fire was discovered in a three-story apartment building just before 6 p.m. and firefighters quickly struck the third alarm.
According to the Boston Fire Department's Twitter feed, the building is located on Harvard Terrace, which is a dead end street.
A collapse zone was established when officials grew worried about the building's stability.
Photos on the fire department's Twitter feed showed several aerial ladders being used to pour water into the building. One firefighter was manning a portable master stream on the roof of a vehicle.
Five firefighters were injured and two were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation and a shoulder injury. EMS crews transported two bystanders who were suffering minor injuries.
Fire officials believe the fire started on the rear porches.
