Texas Firefighters Free Dog from Sink

Lewisville firefighters found Trixie's paw stuck in the drain pipe and brought her to the vets office to free her.

Lewisville firefighters used some elbow grease and tools to free a dog thats foot became trapped in a sink.

Lewisville Engine 1 was dispatched to help Trixie, who was getting a bath in the kitchen sink when a her back paw became stuck in the drain.

"First we tried to get it out with oil, cooking oil, to see if we could get it to slip out. That didn’t work,” Lewisville firefighter Billy McWhorter told KXAS.

The removed the drain from the sink, put Trixie on the pumper and drove over to a veterinarian office where she was put under anesthesia.

Firefighters used their handtools to break the drain and free Trixi's paw.

“It’s probably a once-in-a-lifetime type of call for us," McWhorter said.
