Firefighters, friends and family will gather on Nov. 22 to celebrate the life of Harvey Eisner.
The service -- open to all -- will be held from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.at the FDNY Training Academy (The Rock) on Randall’s Island.
The long-time Firehouse Magazine editor-in-chief died Oct. 23 in Presbyterian Hospital of an apparent heart attack. He was 59.
Since his untimely death, tributes have poured in from people whose lives he touched. Among the descriptions include an icon, a visionary.
People planning to attend the Nov. 22 event are asked to RSVP with the number expected.
Retired FDNY Battalion Chief John Salka said he expects a number of Eisner's friends and colleagues will offer special memories.
Also, Firehouse Magazine is planning a special tribute to Eisner in the December edition.
