N.C. Firefighter Killed, Child Hurt in Fire

A Nantahala volunteer firefighter died early Friday morning in a fire that injured his 9-year-old.

A Nantahala volunteer firefighter died early Friday morning in a fire that left his young daughter with burns.

Brad McCoy, 36, his wife and two children home were at home when the fire broke out around 1 a.m., according to WLOS.com.

The 9-year-old daughter was airlifted to a Georgia burn hospital.

Officials told the TV station that they were looking at a wood stove for a possible cause of the fire.
