Being on duty apparently didn't stop two N.Y. firefighters, including the chief, from partying and using drugs.
Camillus Firefighters Allen Harmon and Douglas Groesbeck fessed up to smoking marijuana on the firehouse roof during a recent interview with police, according to Syracuse.com.
The two spoke about their drug use after they were charged by Camillus police with petit larceny for stealing medication from a fellow firefighter. They also face a count of official misconduct.
Harmon, a former fire captain, admitted repeatedly driving an emergency vehicle while he was under the influence of oxycodone and other prescription drugs during the summer of 2014, the paper reported citing court records.
He estimated he drove to about 10 emergencies while he was "slightly impaired."
Meanwhile, Groesbeck, the former fire chief, admitted smoking marijuana both on the grounds of the Camillus Volunteer Fire Department and when he was in his department vehicle.
The two also admitted to dividing Concerta pills they found in a bag belonging to another firefighter.
Harmon rewarded another firefighter who replenished his supply by giving him 24 hours off of bunk duties, reporters noted.
When he was arrested, Groesbeck was the assistant chief, while Harmon was a firefighter.
Camillus fire Chief James McBride declined to comment when called by a reporter.
