A N.J. department is mourning the loss of its deputy chief.
On Sept. 17, Deputy Chief Thomas Kolarick 59, collapsed in the Protection Fire Co. #1 firehouse after an incident.
He received immediate treatment and was transported to a local hospital where he died Nov. 11.
The cause of death has not been determined.
This brings to 72 the number of on-duty deaths this year.
