The ambulance was headed to a fire when it slid on a slippery road.

An ambulance rolled over Monday afternoon while responding to a fire in the county.

Midland firefighters and EMS responded at about 4:30 p.m. to a fire in a small recreational vehicle in a neighborhood just off West County Road 1278. An ambulance heading to the scene was on West County Road 60 and rolled onto its roof after sliding on snow and ice, according to officials at the scene. The paramedic driver was the ambulance’s only occupant and was transported to the hospital for observation, the officials said.

The RV was vacant at the time the fire occurred, and the fire was extinguished within minutes of arrival.
