OR Fire Inspector Arrested for Suspected DUI

The Portland fire inspector was charge with DUI following a crash in a city-issued vehicle.

A veteran Portland Fire & Rescue inspector was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of intoxicants following a crash in Clackamas County Sunday morning. 

Inspector James Morelli was off-duty when the crash happened, according to a release from the fire department. He was in his city-owned vehicle.

Morelli, a 26-year member of the department, was booked into Clackamas County Jail.

"We are relieved to report there were no serious injuries in connection with this incident. The safety of our citizens is Portland Fire & Rescue's highest priority and this situation will be addresses with this in mind," the press release stated.
