MO EMS Crew Works Amid Gun Battle

ST. LOUIS -- Blood was found in a stolen car abandoned Tuesday afternoon after a running exchange of shots between two vehicles in the 8500 block of Riverview Boulevard, but no wounded person has been located, police said.

The gun battle, shortly before 3 p.m., passed a city fire crew that was at an unrelated medical emergency on that block, officials said.

Fire Capt. Garon Mosby said there were no injuries there, nor damage to the equipment. He said an early report of damage from gunfire at Engine House No. 27, at 5435 Partridge Avenue, was erroneous.

A Nissan Altima stolen in the city was found abandoned, with blood inside, on Riverview near West Florissant Avenue, where it toppled a street light standard.

There also was a crash in the area, at Partridge and Harney Avenue, where it appeared one car smashed into the rear of a parked car and was abandoned. It was not clear whether that incident was connected to the shooting.
