Man's Body Found LA Area Wildland Fire

The man had been found dead in a burned car and that his home had burned down in the Santa Clarita valley fire that has consumed 20,000 acres.

July 24--Sheriff's homicide detectives were investigating the death of a man whose body was found in the area burned by the Sand fire in Santa Clarita Saturday night.

The man's body was found in the 26700 block of Iron Canyon Road around 7:20 p.m., sheriff's official said.

No other information was immediately available. KTLA reported that a neighbor said the man had been found dead in a burned car and that his home had burned down.

Fire officials said late Saturday that structures had been destroyed or damaged in the Bear Divide and Sand Canyon areas. The fire has burned 20,000 acres and is 10% contained.
