OH FF Dies Responding in POV Rollover

A 43-year-old firefighter from Dundee was killed after he was ejected from his pickup while responding to a call.

A firefighter with the Wayne Township Volunteer Fire Department in Dundee was killed after he wrecked and was ejected from his pickup truck while responding to an emergency all.

According to the newspaper, Times Reporter, Ruben E. Mast, 43, of Dundee died Monday night as a result of injuries suffered in a crash while responding in his 2008 Ford F-250 to an emergency call at about 5 p.m. Monday night.

The newspaper reported Mast was driving eastbound on Walnut Creek Bottom Road near Dundee when he lost control, went left of center, over-corrected and struck a guardrail. The truck overturned and Mast was ejected from the pick-up truck. Preliminary investigations indicate he was not wearing his seat belt.    

He was transported by ambulance to Union Hospital in Dover where he succumbed to his injuries.
