Police have arrested a woman who allegedly used stolen firefighting gear to rob a Jersey City store.
Police believe Sabrina Carter stole a turnout coat, bunker punts, helmet and flashlight from a fire apparatus parked outside of the Ocean Avenue fire station Tuesday afternoon.
The store owner told police that she had a "big knife" when she entered the store in PPE and told everyone to leave the building due to a gas leak, according to the Jersey Journal. The police report indicated that Carter stole lottery tickets before running away.
A witness captured video of the woman dressed in PPE before the robbery.
Officers spotted her a short time later and as they chased her, she took off the stolen gear.
Carter, who police say is homeless, was charged with burglary, impersonating a public servant, robbery, theft and weapons charges.
The same fire station was burglarized last week while the crew rescued a teen from a house fire.
Antwan Barfield, 29, was arrested for stealing credit cards and other items.
