A firefighter died after being injured in the rescue of two hikers.
Principal firefighter Yau Siu-ming was with another firefighter at the Ma On Shan. rocks when he slipped and fell early Wednesday morning.
He was transported by helicopter to the to the hospital where he went into a coma and later died, according to the Hong Kong Free Press.
Yau Siu-ming worked in the Tin Sum fire station in Tai Wai.
The Fire Services Department Staffs General Association expressed their sadness over the loss of Siu-ming and promised to help his family.
