AL Firefighter Dies After Completing Shift

Demopolis Lt. Christopher Lane died after he returned home from a shift.

The Demopolis Fire Department is mourning the loss of a firefighter who died after completing his shift.

Lt. Christopher Lane Foster, 54, responded to a motor vehicle accident at 7 a.m. on March 22.

He returned home after his shift where he was found unresponsive at 2:20 a.m. on March 23, according to a release from the U.S. Fire Administration. He died a short time later.

Foster is survived by his wife, three daughters and son.

Services will be held 11 a.m., March 27, at Fairhaven Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Demopolis Memorial Gardens, according to his obituary.
