TX Chiefs Accepting Donations for Harvey Responders

Aug. 31, 2017
The Texas Fire Chiefs Association is accepting donations for firefighters hit hard by Hurricane Harvey.

The Texas Fire Chiefs Association (TFCA) is putting out the call to help first responders who may have lost their homes and local fire departments who need help getting back up and running in the wake of Hurricane Harvey's devastating effect on southeast Texas.

While many firefighters and emergency crews are still away from their families as they assist in recovery efforts in Houston and many surrounding communities, the TFCA would like to remind everyone that many first responders who have been giving all their time to others have also been deeply affected by the storm in their personal lives.

A website has been set up to accept donations, and the TFCA is also accepting gift cards to distribute to Hurricane Harvey first responders at this address:

Texas Fire Chiefs Association

P.O. Box 66700

Austin, TX 78766

The TFCA's Executive Board says those who are willing to lend a hand can rest easy that the recipients will be verified and deliveries will be made to the appropriate individuals or entities, adding that quarterly reports of receipts and distributions will be published.

Any first responders or departments in need who think the TFCA can help should send an email to [email protected]. Requests will be posted on www.texasfireservice.org and all attempts will be made to match them with donors.

Stay safe out there.
