Two firefighters were struck by vehicles Sunday, one on a call and the other during a charity drive.

A pair of Maryland firefighters both suffered injuries Sunday when they were struck by vehicles in two separate incidents.

Delmarva Now reports that a Salisbury firefighter was struck by an apparatus during a response call Sunday and transported to the R. Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. The firefighter was helping place blue reflectors to indicate fire hydrants in the city's Sleepy Hollow neighborhood when he was hit.

No further information was available Sunday night and the condition of the unidentified firefighter is unknown.

Earlier Sunday, a Baltimore County fire lieutenant was injured when he was struck by a vehicle while he and fellow firefighters were out collecting money during a "Fill the Boot" campaign, according to WJZ.

Authorities said the incident happened at about 11:15 a.m. near Rossville Blvd. and Pulaski Highway. The firefighter was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Baltimore County police are investigating.
