MA Building Fire Burns Resident, Injures Two Firefighters

A resident was burned and two firefighters were hurt during a multiple alarm fire in Watertown, MA.

A resident was burned and two firefighters were hurt during a multiple alarm fire in Watertown, MA, Thursday.

According to the local television station WCVB, the three-alarm fire walked out of the three-alarm building fire unaided. The two firefighters hurt in the blaze suffered heat related injuries, were treated for heat exhaustion and were expected to be OK, the television station reported.

The building on Williams Street was heavily involved when firefighters arrived and thick smoke made it difficult to find the blaze and fight it, the TV station reported.

During the blaze, parts of the second and third floor collapsed and firefighters were forced to evacuate the building and fight the fire from the outside of the building, the station reported.

No cause for the blaze was reported.
