Littleton firefighter Scott Holt was performing routine tasks when he fell inside the fire station.

A firefighter was seriously injured during a fall at the Littleton Fire Department’s temporary headquarters Saturday.

Scott Holt, a 13-year member of the department, was "performing routine tasks" when he fell from a fire apparatus just before 5 p.m. according to a statement from the fire department.

Colleagues treated Holt at the scene and transported to a Worcester hospital where he remains in serious but stable condition with a neck injury.

Holt will have surgery and then be moved to a Boston rehabilitation hospital.

"Our thoughts are with him and his family during what is assumed to be a lengthy recovery process," the statement read.

He served with the West Boylston police and fire departments before joining Littleton and is a member of the state hazmat team.

Donations to help Scott and his family can be made to: “The Scott Holt Fund," Shrewsbury Federal Credit Union, 489 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury, MA 01545.
