Fire officials said flammable liquids and combustible chemicals inside the salon and in an adjacent storage area presented firefighters with challenges, the station reported.

The fire forced two other businesses to be evacuated. The owner of a Jamaican restaurant was working on Christmas catering orders when he smelled smoke and left the building. No injuries were reported, the station reported.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
