Recovery workers continue to remove remains from the wreckage of what was once the lobby of the World Trade Center’s south tower, finding one body Thursday and three others the day before.

Recovery workers continue to find more remains in the rubble of what was once the lobby of the World Trade Center’s south tower.
A body was removed early Thursday morning, following the discovery of the remains of three firefighters on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, the bodies of 11 firefighters and two civilians were found. Five of them have already been positively identified through DNA.

The continued discoveries, more than six months after the twin towers were destroyed in the September 11 terrorist attack, come after a temporary roadway used in the cleanup was removed, allowing workers to dig into the wreckage of the ground floor and basement levels of the south tower. It was expected that more bodies would be found there, since the south tower collapsed first and people had less time to escape.
